Redruth in Lights and Grotto

Welcome the start of the festive season with Redruth's annual lantern parade, wassail and Christmas light switch on! Redruth in Lights Welcome the festive season with Redruth in Lights, a full day of community celebrations in the town centre. Enjoy the Redruth Wassail, live music and market stalls before the much-loved lantern parade leads into the official Christmas lights switch-on. During the day watch the ceremonial handover of the Wassail bowl and browse the Christmas markets whilst enjoying carols. As evening falls, the magical lantern parade will make its way through the town centre, bringing festive cheer ahead of the Christmas lights switch-on. Afterwards, the celebrations continue with the Wassail at venues around town. Santa’s Grotto Redruth Town Council is bringing the magic of Christmas back to the heart of the town with its FREE Charity Christmas Grotto at Redruth Library. Step into a winter wonderland, where children can meet Father Christmas and his friendly elves and receive a festive gift. The grotto will be open on Saturday 5 December and Saturday 12 December. Entry is completely free, although booking is required (please see our website for details). Donations are warmly welcomed in support of Penhaligon’s Friends, a Cornish charity helping bereaved children. Come along and enjoy a memorable festive experience centred on kindness, community and Christmas cheer.
