Privacy & cookie policy
Last updated: 10 September 2026
This notice explains how Evntora ("we", "us") collects and uses personal data when you use this website, and the cookies we set. We comply with the UK GDPR, the Data Protection Act 2018 and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
Who we are
Evntora is a hyper-local event directory for South West Cornwall (Penzance, Helston, Falmouth and St Ives). We are run by a sole trader and act as the data controller for personal data processed through this website. We are an events aggregator: we publish listings submitted by organisers rather than creating, hosting or selling tickets for events ourselves. You can contact us about privacy at info@evntora.co.uk.
What we collect
- Event submissions: the details you enter in the submission form, event name, date, town, venue, description, images and your external booking link. We act as an aggregator of these user-submitted listings rather than creating the events ourselves. Do not include personal data you do not want published.
- Account data: if you sign in as an organiser or administrator, your email address and authentication identifiers.
- Technical data: IP address, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected in server logs and, where you consent, via Google Analytics (see below).
- Payment data: when you sponsor an event or buy a sponsored slot, your payment is processed securely by Stripe. We receive a confirmation and your billing details, but we never see or store your full card number.
How and why we use it
- To publish approved event listings, legitimate interests (running the directory).
- To moderate submissions and prevent spam or abuse, legitimate interests.
- To operate accounts and keep the site secure, contract and legal obligation.
- To measure how the site is used, consent (optional analytics cookies only).
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not sell tickets. Booking links take you to the organiser's own website, which has its own privacy policy.
Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored on your device. When you first visit, our banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies. Strictly necessary cookies do not require consent and cannot be turned off.
- Strictly necessary: session and security cookies, plus a local record of your cookie choice so we do not ask again.
- Authentication: set only when you sign in, to keep you signed in.
- Optional analytics: Google Analytics sets these cookies, only with your consent, to count visits and popular listings in aggregate.
You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings, which will make the banner appear again. Blocking all cookies in your browser may stop parts of the site working.
Third-party services we use
Google Analytics: we use Google Analytics to measure aggregate visitor metrics, such as how many people visit the directory and which listings are popular. It sets optional cookies and only runs after you accept optional cookies via our banner. You can opt out through the banner or your browser settings. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy; see business.google.com for details.
Stripe: we use Stripe for secure payment processing when you sponsor an event or buy a sponsored slot. Stripe handles your card payment directly; we receive a transaction confirmation and billing details but not your full card number. See stripe.com for Stripe's privacy policy.
Sharing and storage
Personal data is stored on our hosting and database providers, who act as processors under written terms. Data is held in the UK or the EEA where possible; where a provider transfers data outside the UK, appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum apply. We keep event submissions for as long as the listing is relevant, and account data until the account is deleted.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Email us to exercise any of these rights; we respond within one month.
You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), ico.org.uk, or by calling 0303 123 1113.
Children
Evntora is not aimed at children. Family events are listed for the adults who organise and attend them, and we do not knowingly collect data from under-13s.
Changes
We may update this policy; the date at the top shows the latest version. Questions? Read more about Evntora or email us.
